Accept every way your customers want to pay.
• Credit card payments: Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and rewards cards — all credit cards at the same rate. Take credit card payments over the phone using your computer as a virtual point of sale terminal.
• Contactless payments: Let customers pay with Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay. Accept contactless cards and digital wallets with Tap to Pay.
• Gift cards: Differentiate payment with gift cards integrated into your POS system and Square Dashboard.
• Invoices: Send custom invoices straight from your POS on a mobile device or from your laptop right to your customers’ inboxes with the Square Point of Sale app.
• Transfers: Access funds after a sale with Square Checking, transfer funds to your external bank account instantly for a fee, or get transfers free in one to two business days.
• Refunds: Process refunds for payments directly from your POS system or your online Square Dashboard.
2.6% +10¢ PER TAP, DIP, SCAN, OR SWIPE. Charge $100 in a single transaction and see $97.30 in your bank account. Accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, all credit cards at the same rate. Invoices are free to send and cost 2.9% + 30¢ per invoice paid online.

Checkout
Customize your checkout with item categories, modifiers, add-ons, or special requests to keep your line moving and your customers happy.

• Use Register or wirelessly connect Terminal to any device running your Square POS. With a separate checkout screen, customers can see their itemized cart and pay quickly, all from a safe distance.

• Refund specific items from a transaction. The amount being refunded will reflect any applicable taxes and discounts for the selected item(s).

Transactions
• Accept swiped card payments when your internet service is temporarily unavailable. Offline payments are processed automatically when your device regains connectivity and will expire if not processed within 72 hours.
• Take contactless payments via Tap to Pay.
• Provide customers with digital or printed receipts.
• Let your customers split a bill or use multiple forms of tender to complete payment.

This app is generally good. No huge changes to the GUI too often. It's kept simple and easy to use. But it is frustrating whenever android releases an OS update, the NFC payment processing on the app is blocked until said update is installed, which requires me connecting to WiFi. It's very inconvenient when I'm out on the road, at a job, and all of a sudden, with no notice, have to dig out the card reader to process payments.

Please reach out to us when you have a chance, square.com/help In the meantime, you should be able to use Mobile Data to download the latest version of the Point of Sale app without having to connect to WiFi.

The 6/10 update removed the ability to deposit checks into your Square account. The change was not noted in the update, the online legal terms for Square usage, or the support documentation that all confirm this feature is available subject to agreeing to the terms. Calling support, they stated to deposit checks, the account requires a "certain amount of banking history for that feature to be enabled," but they can't tell you how much or what kind. I've had good history so this is infuriating.

I've used square for 6 almost 7 years now and it works well for me. I do all my billing through the mobile app and it's so easy. They have a line of credit that really came in handy and they made it so easy to pay back with no worries. It comes out of the payments I receive and It's very affordable and effortless. It allowed me to expand with no worries. Two thumbs up 👍👍
