After spending years accumulating streaming subscribers, media companies are now focused on making profits. The solution seems to lie in advertising. This ad push comes from a slow period in the media business as customers drop in and out of platforms. The advertising market has softened, as it's been slow to recover, but ad-supported streaming subscriptions may be the answer to new growth. This change will require innovation and creativity to keep consumers interested, even with the non-ad-supported tiers receiving a pricing increase.
